:PWell, here is another admission of error. When I built the engine I wanted to get rid of the Phillips head screws that held it in place. I don't know of many 1:1 scale Porsches that have huge screws mounting the engine. So I replaced them with plastic rod to be glued in place. After taking that step, I noticed that as I test fit the engine, the turbocharger and wastegate did not fit in the body frame. I hogged out the frame for a proper fit. Also the airboxes and the plumbing for the intercoolers fit very tight.
I had read that there were others with similar fit problems. Well there is an answer to all these fit problems other than this just being an old kit. I had failed to notice that in step 23, when the engine goes in, there are two spacers(N1) that shift the engine down just slightly! I put these over the plastic posts and now everything fits well. I hope this saves others a little frustration. I guess I will learn that for the next one I build.
Happy Turkey day to all! Pete J.
