Ok, gang. I just finished the fan on the front of the alternator, after taking three shots at it. My final attempt(sucessful) involved puting a piece of tape on the bottom of one of the ratchet shaped pieces to hold the blades in place and then using a very small piece of wire to apply a little CA glue. The slots in the ratchet shaped pieces needed a bit of clean up to make the blades fit right. Now that I am done with this very demanding little part(has to be right because it is very prominant in the engine compartment), does anyone else have a better or differant way to do it? Pete J>

I've found that after cleaning the slots that accept the blades, if you simply dip the edge of the individual blades into a drop of CA, and position it in the slot, there's just enough CA stuck to the blade to hold it without showing any excess glue.

Good idea! I am now in my second kit and think I will try my resistance soldering unit. I think that it is precise enough and I have learned enough to us it on an item this small. I will let you know how it comes out.
